Lecture Description: In this presentation and trunk show, Julie will talk about how she started quilting and the journey that brought her to making tiny paper-pieced jewelry and now designing fabric. She will share lots of quilts and stories, and will also bring some of her items to sell.
About Julie: Julie was born and raised in Iowa and still lives there with her husband Greg, and their many pets. She started quilting in 1999, and a few years later found that she was drawn to quilts with lots of small pieces. This eventually led to making tiny paper-pieced quilt jewelry. In 2009, she started her business, Me & My Stitches and has since made thousands of tiny (3/4” to 1 ½”) earrings, pins, pendants, scissor fobs and Christmas ornaments. Me & My Stitches now offers many other products, including numerous shapes and sizes of ruler boxes (made by Greg), quilt patterns and pin cushions. Most recently Julie began designing Civil War era reproduction fabrics for Robert Kaufman Fabrics. You can find all of their products online at www.meandmystitches.com, see them while vending at a few shows every year and you might see their jewelry in a quilt shop in your travels!
