PURPOSE: The Riverwalk Quilters Guild (RQG) was organized in June 1994 to promote the art and craft of quilting, to encourage philanthropic quilting within the community, to provide education and instruction on various quilting topics and to collaborate with other groups having similar goals. The Guild is open to anyone interested in making, collecting, or studying quilts, at all levels of experience and skill.
MEMBERSHIP MEETINGS: We meet on the second Tuesday of each month (except for October) either by ZOOM or in-person. If we are meeting in person, check the home page or newsletter to find out the location. If we are meeting by ZOOM, a meeting invitation is emailed to all members who joined by the Friday preceding the meeting date. We endeavor to start our meeting at 7:00 PM so plan on arriving early to have time to enter ZOOM. Please change your display to include your full first and last name. In general, the format of the meeting is that the speaker presents first, the business meeting follows. The business meeting will include announcements, show and tell, door prizes, etc.
DUES: Annual dues of $35 entitles members to all the rights of membership during the Guild’s fiscal year (July 1 through June 30). If joining in the middle of the year, dues are prorated at $20. Newsletters can be printed and mailed for an additional $12 per year. Members are asked to participate in all fund raising activities in addition to the social events. For more information, contact us at [email protected]. Use the current Member Information Form for new memberships, membership renewals and member information changes such as home or email addresses. If you are a new member, be sure to check out the Membership Welcome Information.

Other Guild Activities:
WORKSHOPS: Instructional workshops that feature nationally recognized quilters are offered to members throughout the year. Guild members are given priority registration for these workshops. Non-members may enroll when space allows. On occasion, the Guild offers basic skills workshops conducted by guild members. To view upcoming programs, click on Programs/Workshops.
QUILTING BEES: The Guild sponsors quilting bees for members. Bee activities and meeting times vary and are determined by their members. Some bees meet monthly, some semi-monthly, some during the day and some in the evening. Although bee participation is completely optional, it is a great way to get to know other Guild members. New quilting bees are organized as needed.
NEWSLETTER: A monthly newsletter is available on our website. If you do not have access to a computer, it can be printed and sent to you at an additional cost. Newsletter highlights include the monthly letter from the Guild president, new books added to our library, upcoming events and other topics. View the current Newsletter.
GUILD LIBRARY: Members may borrow a variety of quilting books and DVD’s from an extensive Guild library available at monthly meetings. Check out the many titles by clicking on the Library link. Members paper piece their name tags from a pattern included with the Member Form. Instructions are included. Not only does it help to get acquainted, members must be wearing their name tags to qualify for meeting door prizes!
PHILANTHROPY: Making quilts to help the needy is a time-honored tradition among quilters. RQG carries on this tradition by making children’s quilts and pillowcases for The Sharing Connections, Edward Hospital Care Center, Habitat for Humanity and Hesed House.
FUND-RAISING: To fund our monthly programs and philanthropic activities, the Guild holds an annual Small Quilt Auction, a quilt raffle, frequent raffle baskets at meetings, and special events, such as this year’s Quilt Show. Participation in these activities is a member responsibility. Not only is it fun, but allows for many opportunities to share the knowledge and skills of the talented members of our Guild.
