All speakers will deliver a lecture on Tuesday evening. The speaker will present a workshop some time that week except when no workshop is noted. If the workshop doesn't fill with members, we will open the workshop for others. Lunch may be purchased in advance for an additional $5 per workshop. Contact Yvette Thorn or Sandy Alfaia to get more information about workshops. January 10, 2012 - New Years Party February 14, 2012 - Debra Figved Debra Figved is a local marketing representative for the Pellon Legacy line as well as a long arm quilter. Her presentation focuses on the various types of batting offered by the batting industry, how batting is produced, and what determines a quality batting. She will have batting samples and a few quilts to provide finished layers of quilts…for the common touchy-feely quilters amongst us. While making her presentation generic to all batting manufacturers, she has more information that is drawn from the Pellon Legacy line. Come join us to learn more about the products that help give the warm cozy feeling to the wonderful quilts we make. There is no workshop for February. March 13, 2012 - Micke Dupre Micke will take us thru exercises of fabric selection for projects. We will learn to stretch our wings and see that using colors/patterns we may not have considered before will add "zing" to our next projects palette. This will be followed by a short trunk show and of course a question and answer period. Micke also adds "WARNING: All attendees of my Lectures must come prepared to Laugh, Share, Learn, ...and above all Enjoy!" Please visit her website at: www.mdquilts.com to get a peek at her work. Her workshop, "Paintsticks - Make Fabric Your Own", takes place on March 14th.
