All speakers will deliver a lecture on Tuesday evening. The speaker will present a workshop some time that week except when no workshop is noted. If the workshop doesn't fill with members, we will open the workshop for others. Lunch may be purchased in advance for an additional $7 per workshop. February 9, 2010 - Jan Krentz
Lecture and trunk show: The Great Star Review!

Historic look at the traditional 8-point star designs, ranging from Lone Stars, Hunter Stars, and the new Diamond Quilts.

Jan Krentz is a nationally recognized quilt instructor, author and designer. You may remember her visit back in 2002 when she taught a packed Lone Star class. Don't miss your chance to be a part of an intermediate/advanced 2-day design and construction class, Rainbow Split Broken Star, on February 10 & 11. You won't regret it!

Lecture: Experience Africa through African Folklore Embroidery

Leora Rakin will convey information about South Africa and African Folklore embroidery in a humorous, entertaining, informative and interactive manner.

Her workshop, "African Folklore Embroidery", takes place on March 10.

Trunk Show: Needle Felting

Barbara Crawford is the not only the owner of Crawford Designs, an established pattern company that specializes in appliqué designs and country collectable dolls, but is now leading the way in the Needle Felting trend! Needle felting is probably the biggest new craze out there...it is beautiful, simple, and fast to do.

Her workshop, "All you need to know about needle felting in a wall hanging", takes place on April 14.

May 11, 2010 - Ann Calland
Lecture and Trunk Show: Fred Calland Designs--Quilting from a Man’s Point of View

Ann Calland is the curator of the Marie Webster home and Headquarters for the Quilters’ Hall of Fame in Marion, Indiana. She will do a combination lecture and trunk show of her brother’s quilt designs. No workshop.

Chris Moline is an AQS Certified Quilted Textile Appraiser, quilt historian, quilter, lecturer, collector and a founding member of our very own Riverwalk Quilters Guild. Her Ugly Quilts talk is described as a "real hoot". Come prepared to be educated and laugh a lot.
