Quilting Bees
If you're looking for a smaller, more informal group with which to share your love of quilting, then a “bee” might be just the answer for you. A bee is a group of quilters, usually Riverwalk members, who meet on a periodic basis to either work on group projects or individual work or to work in a particular quilting style, such as appliqué or miniatures. The bee members set the exact activities of their bee. Several bees have been set up in the past few years, and there are always members looking to form new bees or join existing ones all the time. Special Events helps facilitate the process of finding or forming a bee by providing a sign-up list at their table at each meeting. Throughout the year, the special events chairperson will call these signed-up members to see if their availability and interests match up or to fill openings in existing bee groups. If you're interested in a bee, stop by the Special Events table to sign up. Also, you can also elect to wear a Want to “bee” in a bee? sticker on your shirt to generate conversation with other potential bee members at guild meetings. Stickers are available at the table each guild meeting. © 2009 Riverwalk Quilters Guild |
