Lecture Description: David LaPlaca submitted photos of his church's enormous advent banner to be considered for display at the 2025 International Quilt Festival in Houston, and it was chosen. The four panels measure more than 17 feet wide with 32 separate pieces. Last October David and his wife travelled to Texas for the last few days of the exhibition, which drew approximately 60,000 attendees from more than 25 countries. While there, David gave two talks about his work. In his presentation for the guild, he will share his unique approach to design and quilting.
