Lecture Description:
About Lynn: Lynn learned to sew at a young age and also took up knitting, crocheting, crewel, embroidery, and macramé. She learned to use a sewing machine at age 10. In 7th grade, while others were making aprons, Lynn sewed a dress with an inset bodice piece! She has done upholstery work and made wedding headpieces, purses, women's clothes, and leisure suits (for her husband). Nothing stopped her from learning. Lynn told herself she would not learn to quilt until she was a grandmother but, the day her daughter said she was expecting, Lynn signed up for a quilt class. The twin babies are now 25 and she has had great experiences ever since. After making quilts, Lynn wanted more. She attended all the quilt shows she could as well as many quilt lectures near and far. At one Fabric Study class, she was hooked, never realizing how much more she could learn about fabrics. She attended annual American Quilt Society appraising classes in Paducah, Kentucky (her vacations since 2008). In 2016 she became a Certified AQS Quilt Appraiser and now belongs to several fabric study groups. Lynn’s intention after retiring was to travel by motorhome with her husband. While on the road, she planned to appraise, give trunk show lectures with unique quilts she found, appraise at quilt shows or guilds, and teach. She loves meeting people and so many interesting are people out there! Website: https://lynncontri.com |
