Lecture Description: Kathy will help you explore ways to make finishing your quilts with pizazz. Accurate super skinny border, scalloped inserts, facing and several multicolor and decorated binding options will be discussed. This is a lecture/demo only. There will be a handout for those in the room and on zoom.
About Kathy: Kathy started sewing under her mother’s tutelage when she was young. Despite her mother's encouragement, she didn’t start quilting until her firstborn was 3 years old. Her mother practically forced her to use the rotary cutter and cut out a foundation square that was sewed with strips on the diagonal. After that, she never stopped! Kathy started with traditional quilts but she appreciates modern and art quilts so much that she has tried her hand there also. She love bright colors and vivid designs and is willing to try just about anything though. She is drawn to the work of Sharon Schamber and Caryl Bryer Fallert, but there is hardly an end to the list of quilters she admires. Her favorite quilt is usually the one she’s working on, but she is proud of one that she made from foundation papers by George Siciliano using her hand dyes. Lately, she has been lecturing and teaching binding methods. website: https://kathyherbachquilts.com/ |
