About Ellen: Ellen Lindner is a quilt artist and teacher from Melbourne, Florida, who is passionate about making fabric into art and has started dying much of her own. Known for its strong contrasts and vivid colors, her art has been shown in the US and beyond. Ellen has appeared on Quilting Arts TV and has written two books. A self-taught quilter, Ellen worked most of her adult life as a flight instructor. Now she uses her teaching expertise in the realm of quilting. Her work ranges from pictorial still life to modernist abstract designs. Ellen says she works in a freeform collage style, while borrowing heavily from traditional quilt making techniques.
